The Subscription Energy program is a way to add consistency to your monthly statement while supporting clean energy.
Once enrolled, you’ll pay a fixed monthly price for your energy charges all year long. We look at your historical usage and subtract 5% from the average to calculate your fixed monthly offer while making sure 100% of your electricity is matched with wind energy for free.
For example, if your average bill with PEPCO DC last year was $100, your offer would be $95 with Subscription Energy.
We’ll also send you an ecobee3 lite smart thermostat to help optimize your home’s energy efficiency at no cost!
You’ll pay Arcadia for the fixed monthly price and Arcadia will pay PEPCO DC for the full charges issued. At the end of 12 months we’ll recalculate your offer.
There are no commitments, contracts or cancelation fees.
How will subscription energy impact my thermostat?
You will always have complete control of your home’s temperature. Your ecobee will pre-cool and pre-heat your home when energy prices are low, always staying within the comfort settings you set yourself. You likely won't even notice.
How is my offer calculated?
We review the prices you paid for energy over the past year and calculate your offer by applying a discount to your last year's average bill price. You pay this amount every month for a year, no matter how the energy market or weather changes and no matter how much energy you use.
How are you able to guarantee savings?
You already know ecobee for the savings, comfort and control it brings to your everyday life. ecobee's partnership with Arcadia means eco+ can automatically respond to real-time energy prices which lowers your energy costs and helps your community use cleaner energy from renewable sources. You will always remain in control of your comfort.
Do I have to pay a premium for this service?
No. There are no subscription fees or hidden fees associated with subscription energy. You’ll simply pay the same price for energy every month, no matter what.
Does anything change with my current electric utility when I sign up for Arcadia?
Subscription energy works by integrating with (not replacing!) your electric utility. Your utility will continue to deliver energy to your home without interruption.
How does billing work / how is my utility paid?
You will no longer pay your power bill directly to your electric utility. Instead, we’ll email you a monthly statement for your fixed subscription price. After you pay us, we pay your utility bill, even if it’s higher. We ensure your utility will be paid on time in full every month.
How does Arcadia match my usage with 100% wind energy?
We ensure that all of your electric usage is matched with renewable wind energy by purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) on your behalf. This way you can lower your bill and your carbon footprint.
What if I change my mind?
We don’t believe in termination fees and you are welcome to cancel at any time.
