For most customers enrolled in Community Solar the best option is to cancel your budget billing plan. If you live in an area where Community Solar and budget billing are not compatible we’ll be sure to contact you before your project goes live to give you time to unenroll.
When enrolled in budget billing with your utility, it can take several months for your utility to adjust your budget billing amount to properly reflect community solar savings. Regardless, the solar portion of your bill that is allocated towards the maintenance and development of the project will be added on top of your normal budget billing amount and reflected on the statement we send you. For customers that do not have budget billing, this amount is calculated into your actual charges so that you can clearly see savings.
Cancelling your budget billing plan will ensure you start to see savings on your statement right away. Please be aware, cancelling budget billing with your utility may result in an additional credit or charge on your next month's utility bill depending on your actual energy charges while you've been enrolled in budget billing.
