What is The Footprint Project?

The Footprint Project is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that helps emergency responders deploy clean technologies that power immediate lifesaving efforts while supporting long-term, resilient recovery. They are on a mission is to turn every disaster into an opportunity for sustainable development. Footprint displaces diesel with renewable nanogrids and build impact accounting tools for humanitarian agencies, providing the expertise, equipment and information to transition relief missions off fossil fuels. Footprint works to rebuild responsibly, so we are better prepared to weather the next storm.

The Footprint Project is based in Minnesota, was founded in 2017 and can be found on Guidestar and CharityNavigator.

Our partnership with The Footprint Project makes it easy for Arcadia customers to support their sustainable recovery initiatives. By opting-in to add $1 to your power bill a month, 100% of the collected funds by the Arcadia community will be donated to The Footprint Project.

How does this work?

Step 1:

Add a dollar

Commit to adding one dollar to your power bill every month when you pay it through Arcadia.

Step 2:

We’ll double it

We’ll match every dollar commitment made before May 31, 2019 and donate 100% of the funds to The Footprint Project.

Step 3:

Track your impact

We’ll update you regularly on the positive impact that your donations are having in disaster stricken communities.

Your donations will be used to assess critical energy needs using advanced algorithms and send solar nanogrids and solar generators to disaster-affected communities to power their recovery with resilient, sustainable energy.

How can I enroll? 

We are not currently enrolling new customers in the Footprint project. 

When will you start charging me for this donation?

Your monthly donation will be added to your power bill starting March 2020.

Where are my donations going?

100% of donations will be sent to The Footprint Project. When a natural disaster strikes, the funds will be used to deploy solar nanogrids and solar generators to the disaster-affected communities to power their recovery with resilient, sustainable energy.

How do I turn off my donation?

We’ll notify you one month before your first dollar donation gets added to your bill. Change your mind? Simply email us to cancel at any time.
