How does the Wind Energy program work?

As of December 2024 Arcadia will no longer offer the Wind REC (Renewable Energy Credit) Program, as we are focusing on the growth and expansion of Community Solar in order to continue to drive forward the advancement of renewable energy across the country.

Historically Arcadia would  ensure that our participating customer's energy usage was matched with wind by purchasing renewable energy certificates (RECs) from wind farms across the country.

When electricity enters the grid, there’s absolutely no way to track where it goes. That's where RECs come in. RECs are the only way to track renewable energy generation and consumption today.
