If you are enrolled in LIHEAP, that’s not a problem! You will still be able to take advantage of your full credit. However, please know that once you are connected to a Community Solar project your LIHEAP credit will be spread out over a few months rather than applying as one large credit to one statement.
Your local utility will apply the LIHEAP credit towards your net utility charges. Because you are receiving solar savings each month, your net charges are less than they would have been without Community Solar. Once your utility bill is issued for the month, you will still receive no less than 5% of the solar savings and the remaining solar savings are allocated towards maintaining and operating the local solar project. Any LIHEAP credit not used that month will roll over to your next utility bill until the credit is completely depleted.
This organization is operating under the Oregon Community Solar Program. The Oregon Community Solar Program is a state-enabled initiative overseen by the Oregon Public Utility Commission and implemented by Energy Solutions, The Energy Trust of Oregon, and Community Energy Project, and Portland General Electric. The Program provides resources and certification for its Project Managers (PMs) but does not promote any individual PM or PM affiliated organization. For more information about the program, call 1-800-481-0510 or email info@oregoncsp.org .
